Seems like uncle Steve from Apple is the main responsible for the lack of Flash support on the iPhone. Well, but I remember a while back that the same man stated that he couldn’t understand why You Tube used flash to play video, because QuickTime would be a better option (ARE YOU KIDDIN ME, STEVE? QUICK WHAT?).

Apple can’t deny the Flash platform as a web standard for interactive content and if they want to create a sucessful dev community for the iPhone, they should really consider that fact. Maybe Apple just needs a new and younger CEO…

JotYou offers a free location based SMS service where users can define target locations for their messages. Most of proximity mobile marketing tools are based on bluetooth and there’s doubt about it’s efficiency, but looks like JotYou’s new concept will truly change the game in the market.

NASA’s plan to colonize the Moon is in progress and they are already gathering technology and partners to setup a communication network up there for “moon colonists” (What’s fun about being on the Moon if you can’t call your friends to tell about all the cool low gravity effects?).

The system will be called MoonLite (Why didn’t Adobe think about that before?) and Verizon should be elected to manage the first alien mobile network in history (”spatial” rates!).

PS: Nokia could even launch a new phone series called Nokia ASSIMOV to fit the theme, but regarding OS for mobile phones, astrounauts are already well served with “Symbian” and “Android”.

Modular Phone

February 14, 2008 | Leave a Comment

Do you remember my recent post about phone customization? Israelian company Modu has a new concept of modular phone where users keep a thin black phone that can be attached to what they call “The Jacket”, wich are empty phone cases (exchangeable covers). The cases can only be used in combination with the main module and can be bought for $200.

I think Modu’s marketing strategy fits perfect what consumers are looking for: custom and unique phones that reflect it’s owner’s personality. They also offer a large variety of covers (click here to view some).

I’ve found out a better video of a phone running Android. Can this be the OS in your next phone?
